Compression Fittings Product Range

Our specification advice for Flowflex Compression products is designed to help you correctly describe our fittings, in terms of design, quality and performance to mitigate any risk of inferior product being used on your project.

Performance & Assembly

Compression Fittings should comprise of a Brass Body, Olive and Nut. When the Nut tightened, compressing the Olive onto the Tube, creating a permanent seal.

Materials

Standard Brass Compression

Brass Compression Fittings manufactured to BS EN 1254 standard using Brass conforming to CW617N specifications manufactured in the UK by Flowflex.

DZR Brass Compression

Brass Compression Fittings manufactured to BS EN 1254 standard using Brass conforming to CW602N specifications manufactured in the UK by Flowflex.

Markings

Fittings should be marked with "EN 1254-2" on cap nut, together with the relevant size of the component and the brand "Flowflex UK"

Tube Compatibility

Copper Tube

Fittings should be designed to connect to BS EN 1057 tube.

Warranty

The manufacturer should offer a 25 Year Manufacturer's Warranty for all of its Compressing Fittings when used in conjunction with the manufacturer's Olives.

Drinking Water Approvals

WRAS

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to comply with the requirements of the United Kingdom Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Scottish Water Byelaws.

DVGW (Water)

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, comply with the requirements of the DIN/DVGW Water Regulations of Germany.

KIWA

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to comply with the Dutch requirements for hygienic aspects as laid down in the "Regulation materials and chemicals for drinking and hot tap water supply" of 01-07-2017 (published in the Government Gazette).

ETA

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to comply with the requirements of the Danish Water Supply Regulations.

Norway

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to comply with the requirements of the Nordic Committee on Building Regulations (NKB12, Mechanical couplings of metal for copper pipes for tap water installations) and can therefore be used in conjunction with systems for the supply of water intended for human consumption.

Sweden

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and approved, when correctly installed, in accordance with the provisions of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations (BBR) for use with installations for the supply of water intended for human consumption.

Gas Supply Approvals

DVGW

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to be a certified product of gas supply in compliance with the European Gas Regulations (EU/2016/426).

GASTEC

Compression Fittings should have been examined, tested and found, when correctly installed, to comply with the GASTEC QA Approval Requirements 35, for “Compression fittings for joining copper pipes” when in contact with 2nd and 3rd family gasses.
