Yes, the Stop Cock can be installed either horizontally or vertically. There is a directional arrow on the Stop Cock to ensure the valve is installed in the correct direction.

No, Stop Cocks are not operated through a quarter turn action. To close the valve, you need to turn the crutch head until it is fully closed. By turning the crutch head and stem the gasket inside the valve moves up and down to either open or close the valve.
